The Kumovis R1 3D production printer for medical implant production features a temperature management system that homogeneously heats the build chamber to 482°F for improved layer adhesion. Adding a filter system turns the R1 3D’s build chamber into a cleanroom, and integrated monitoring ensures documentation and safety throughout production. The Kumovis R1 is an open system based on fused layer manufacturing for processing most thermoplastic materials ranging from PLA to PEEK. Software-based print control, Hyperganic Print, optimizes prints across the part as well as customizes and automates processes.

Vision-based process monitoring in 3D printers

ADMATEC’s Admaflex process monitoring system for advanced ceramic and metal additive manufacturing (AM) on the Admaflex 130 documents and traces the production process. The vision-based system adds more user control to the modular 3D printer through layer detection, foil movement, and time-lapse videos. Admaflex 130 printers are available with a starting build platform of 160mm x 100mm x 400mm and speeds up to 300 layers per hour.
