GF Machining Solutions has named Ellison Technologies as its new distributor to serve customers in Indiana; Michael Devine has been appointed to senior applications engineer at Adams Magnetic Products’ Elmhurst facility; Morris Group Inc. Distributors has been selected by Desktop Metal Inc. as a Diamond Partner supplier of its metal 3D printing systems in 30 states; Graham Engineering Corp. has appointed Brad Lovelace as process engineer; DMG MORI and Fuchs Petrolub SE have signed a collaboration contract for a technology partnership for product developments in lubricants for machine tools.

CIMdata ranks Mastercam 1st in installed seats

According to the latest analysis by CIMdata Inc., for the 23rd straight year Mastercam is the world’s most widely-used CAM software. With more than 236,000 installed seats worldwide, Mastercam has nearly twice the installed base of the closest competitor.

Siemens expands Elk Grove facility

Siemens has expanded itsTechnical Application Center (TAC), offering classroom training, online instructor-led training, and online self-paced training.

Occupying more than 3,150ft2 of space at the Elk Grove Village, Illinois facility, the expanded machine lab features three milling machines and one turning center for hands-on learning, a Kuka robotic center, and a NX-CAM training station. Two state-of-the-art classrooms provide students with instructor-led, hands-on training using SinuTrain software and Sinumerik CNC simulators.

In addition to the expansion of the TAC, a virtual TAC is also available at no cost allowing individuals to watch professional-series webinars online.

Jeffrey Reinert

Schütte names Reinert CEO

Jeffrey Reinert has been named CEO for the North American operations at Schütte, Jackson, Michigan. Reinert brings more than 30 years of related experience to the position. Most recently the president and CEO for North American Operations at Index, he nearly doubled sales; reorganized the service, parts, and training departments; and opened a new office in the emerging Mexican market.

“Schütte has a solid reputation as a builder of top quality, multi-spindle machine tools, and based on that foundation, we plan to accelerate the company’s growth curve to take us into more markets with a decidedly aggressive posture,” Reinert states, noting that long-range plans for Shütte include upgrades to the current facility with more machines on the floor to demonstrate the company’s capabilities, testing, and production scenarios.
