Online registration is now open for the Additive Manufacturing Users Group’s (AMUG) 2018 Education & Training Conference, in St. Louis, Missouri, April 8-12. The users group conference, now in its 30th year, is open to owners and operators of industrial additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies used for professional purposes.

AMUG brings together engineers, designers, technicians, supervisors, plant managers, and educators to share expertise, best practices, challenges, and application developments in additive manufacturing. The conference will include technical sessions and hands-on workshops designed to help users get more from, and do more with, their systems.

The agenda includes more than 200 presentations and hands-on workshops, as well as the fourth annual Innovators Showcase, an on-stage interview where attendees get to know an innovator in the industry and discover insights from that individual’s experiences. For 2018, the special guest will be Wilfried Vancraen, founder and CEO of Materialise.

Materialise acquires ACTech

ACTech, a German company producing limited runs of highly complex metal parts, has been acquired by Materialise. This brings together the knowledge and experience Materialise has in metals, additive manufacturing (AM), and software, with the metal manufacturing offering of ACTech, which brings knowledge and experience in the production, treatment, and quality control of complex metal parts. Materialise will also harness ACTech’s software offerings in the metal AM space.
