Kyocera SGS Precision Tools’ (KSPT) platform for KSPT speed and feed calculations and recommended tools in the portfolio – Tool Wizard – has a new web-based platform for a streamlined experience and access to more than 12,000 SGS standard catalog tools.

Exact Metrology opens Moline, Illinois service center

With facilities in Brookfield, Wisconsin; Cincinnati, Ohio; and an upcoming one in Texas, Exact Metrology opened a service center at 4715th Street A, Moline, Illinois.

This location will serve as a training, support, contract measurement, and sales center. Training will be provided on PolyWorks, Geomagic, and PC-DMIS software. Hardware classes will be offered for Romer, Leica Tracker, Surphaser, Leica RTC 360, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Exact Metrology will also offer portable CMMs and custom measurement classes. Day classes and half-day classes will be available.

Contract services include CMM measurement, custom programming, inspection, and reverse engineering.

Solar Atmospheres adds scanning electron microscope

Solar Atmospheres recently commissioned a Hitachi FlexSEM1000 II smart scanning electron microscope (SEM), which will allow Solar to meet customer requirements for low-level contamination from carbon, oxygen, and/or nitrogen, post heat-treating. Additionally, the SEM will enable Solar to fulfill materials characterization and microstructural determination requests beyond basic metallography and hardness testing.
