A new engineering training department at Allied Machine & Engineering will provide education programs for new employees, users, and distributors. The 3,000ft2 facility in Dover, Ohio, includes two vertical machining centers (VMC) and one horizontal machining center (HMC), each with a dedicated camera and live feed to 60" monitors. Demonstrations feature Allied tools running in a wide variety of materials.
Two-and-a-half-day technical educational seminars are designed to keep participants current on the latest industry trends and technology feature classroom and metal cutting demonstrations.

FIT expands US activities, additive manufacturing
German additive manufacturing group FIT has expanded its U.S. activities, relocating to Southborough, Massachusetts, and appointing Kenneth D. Gray as chairman of FIT America Inc. In addition, FIT America established a fully owned subsidiary, Boston Ceramics LLC, with Andrew Jeffery as president. Boston Ceramics also established a facility for additive manufacturing of ceramics, which started operations in April 2017. Management changes at Methods Machine Tools
Former Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jerry Rex has been named president of Methods Machine Tools Inc. Long-time company President Bryon Deysher has accepted a new position as executive director of the board. Rex has assumed all operating functions of Methods Machine Tools, including its Sudbury, Massachusetts, headquarters and six other locations throughout the United States.
With a background that includes hands-on manufacturing, engineering, sales, and executive management, Rex’s relationship skills, international exposure, and broad network deliver a seamless transition of leadership. Rex has served for many years as a board member of AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology and served as chairman of the board of directors of AMT until April 1, 2016.
